Hybrid Isolation Technology
for Defined Subwoofer Bass

The AUVA SW is designed to absorb the powerful, high-amplitude vibration from subwoofers at the source, ensuring a composed and precise system.

Subwoofer integration provides depth and impact without overpowering the speakers, allowing them to deliver greater detail. By removing disruptive structural vibration, the AUVA SW ensures bass is tight and controlled. This blends the sub with the system to preserve clarity, realism, and spatial cues.

Energy-absorbing AUVA pods sit at the top of each isolator. Inside, a tuned particle mass absorbs and disperses vibration, converting it into heat.

The CSA-SW element is a custom silicone absorber that builds on the proven technology of the AUVA EQ, tuned for the vibration characteristics of subwoofers and available in six weight-matched versions for optimal performance.

Precision-machined aluminium housing is shaped to control the CSA-SW’s compliance, ensuring it moves exactly as intended. This precision allows us to push the boundaries of compliance, maximising bass isolation without compromising stability.

The AUVA SW was partly developed using Finite Element Analysis to model its behaviour under subwoofer-level energy. Twenty-nine design iterations were refined to optimise isolation and energy dissipation, ensuring the engineering delivers tighter low-frequency control.

Installation

AUVA SW isolators are available in the most common thread sizes used for subwoofers. Adapter plates come as standard for models that don’t use threads, allowing the isolators to sit directly beneath the subwoofer with proper support and stability. Both the adapter plates and the thread fixings allow for small height adjustments during setup.

FAQs

Speakers and subwoofers need different things. Speakers benefit from being held rigid while their cabinet vibration is absorbed, which preserves driver alignment and imaging. Subwoofers generate mostly omnidirectional, long-wavelength energy that travels easily through floors.

The AUVA SW uses tuned compliance, matched to your subwoofer’s weight, to decouple the sub and dissipate that structure-borne energy. That tightens the bass without needing rigid coupling.

REL tune the height of every subwoofer precisely, and their warning is against raising the cabinet on tall, soft platforms or untuned compliant feet. Those genuinely can thin out deep bass.

The AUVA SW is different. It’s tuned to your sub’s weight, and its height adjusts from 39.8mm to 52mm, covering REL’s stock feet: 44mm on the T/ Series and 50mm on the S/ Series and Carbon range. With the height matched, independent REW measurements show the dominant change is reduced structural decay between 40 and 80Hz, not reduced output.

Our full guide, Subwoofer Isolation & REL, covers this in detail.

The AUVA SW gives you plenty of clearance and flexible height options, so you can match, or slightly raise, the distance your driver or port currently sits from the floor:

Using the adapter plate (no threads): 39.8 to 42.8mm Threaded directly into your sub: 40.0 to 43.0mm Adding one thumb nut: 44.0 to 51.0mm

Down-firing subwoofers are generally very tolerant within these ranges.

No. The AUVA SW can be threaded directly into your subwoofer if it has compatible mounting points, replacing the existing feet with no modifications. If your sub has no threads, place the isolators underneath using our adapter plates, which add a silicone contact layer for stable support. Both options allow height adjustment.

Please note that removing your subwoofer’s feet, or fitting adapter plates, may affect the subwoofer manufacturer’s warranty.

You’ll usually find the thread size in your subwoofer’s user manual. If you can’t, email info@stackaudio.co.uk with your subwoofer model and we’ll find it for you.

The AUVA SW is available with these thread adaptors: ¼"-20, ⅜"-16, ½"-13, M6-1.0, M8-1.25, M10-1.25, M10-1.5, M12-1.25 and M12-1.75.

Choose the insert by the total weight of your subwoofer. Each set of four is tuned for a specific range:

SW CSA 1: 1–16kg (2.2–35.2lbs) SW CSA 2: 16–24kg (35.2–52.9lbs) SW CSA 3: 24–32kg (52.9–70.5lbs) SW CSA 4: 32–40kg (70.5–88.2lbs) SW CSA 5: 40–48kg (88.2–105.8lbs) SW CSA 6: 48–56kg (105.8–123.5lbs)

If you’re not sure, contact us with your subwoofer model and weight and we’ll recommend the best fit.

No. Isolating a subwoofer doesn’t remove the physical feel of bass; it removes the unwanted floor shake that exaggerates it. That shake comes from the sub vibrating the structure of your room, not from the low-frequency energy itself.

With the sub properly decoupled, you still get the same pressure and weight from the bass. What changes is that it becomes tighter, faster and more controlled, with impact that feels deliberate rather than boomy.

It won’t change your sub’s voicing. It tightens and clarifies the low end by removing boom, resonance and unwanted floor interaction, so you hear more of what your subwoofer is actually producing.

The AUVA SW works on all types of flooring. Suspended timber floors flex and store energy, with resonances that can reach into the sub-bass region. Concrete floors transmit structure-borne vibration and reflect low-frequency energy back into the cabinet. Either way, decoupling the subwoofer helps.

4 x AUVA SW isolators, 1 x adapter tool, 12 x spikes (3 per foot), 4 x fixing adapters and 4 x felt discs. The alternative set includes adapter plates for subwoofers without threads.

You have 60 days to audition the isolators from the day they arrive. If they’re not for you, we’ll arrange collection and give you a full refund, subject to the parts being complete and undamaged.

"With the AUVA feet in place, that mechanical interaction was dramatically reduced. Bass became noticeably tighter, cleaner and more articulate, with better definition of pitch and texture and far less overhang."

"I installed Stack Audio AUVA SW feet under the rear Velodyne DD10+ subwoofer, and the improvement was immediately obvious and more significant than I expected. Prior to fitting the AUVA SW feet, I could clearly hear the subwoofer coupling with the floor and carpet, which introduced muddiness to the bass and made it easier to localise where the low frequencies were coming from.

With the AUVA feet in place, that mechanical interaction was dramatically reduced. Bass became noticeably tighter, cleaner and more articulate, with better definition of pitch and texture and far less overhang. The subwoofer integrated far more seamlessly, creating a more coherent and natural presentation across the entire low-frequency range.

Interestingly, even without increasing the subwoofer volume, it felt as though there was greater true low-end extension and authority simply because the bass was now better controlled and more focused. Beyond the bass improvements, the benefits extended to the whole system: midrange and high frequencies became more defined, imaging improved, and the overall presentation sounded more realistic and stable.

To verify what I was hearing, I performed RT60 decay measurements in REW both before and after installing the AUVA SW feet. The measurements clearly showed a significant reduction in low-frequency decay times, particularly in the critical bass region, which directly mirrors the cleaner, faster and more controlled bass response I experienced during listening.

In my highly resolving system and acoustically treated room, the AUVA SW feet delivered a measurable and clearly audible upgrade, transforming the DD10+ into a far better integrated and more musical part of the system.

I have attached below the REW RT60 graph for reference, which visually confirms the improvement in decay performance (blue line before and purple line after installing)."

"I have tighter bass, greater detail in the LF and they match the AUVA 100 my speakers sit on. One of the great things I have found is that the SW have improved the whole frequency, high to low, due to having less LF influence on the rest of the audio band. They have been a much welcomed addition to what Stack has already provided for my system."

Oliver L - UK

"The AUVA SWs certainly are a considerable improvement over the SVS Soundpath feet I used before. With the AUVA SWs bass instruments are better defined and the soundstage is more coherent. This was already easily detectable right out of the box. And there is an unexpected bonus: with the AUVA SWs it has become much easier to fine tune the settings of my SVS SB-2000 Pro, in order to suit the imperfection of my room acoustics and ears.

It seems to me that Theo and Josh of Stack Audio once again did a fine job, developing an excellent upgrade at a competitive price. I already had their AUVA 70’s under my Wharfedale Evo 4.3 speakers and AUVA EQ’s under my Cambridge EXA100 amp, much to my satisfaction. The delivery of the AUVA SW’s was swift, by the way. I ordered them on Monday afternoon and just three days later they were delivered at my doorstep."

"Two-day delivery to USA, Great! Packaging, Build and Presentation, Excellent!! Sub/System Sonic Improvements…OMG!!!

As we call it in the deep south, Voodoo! The magic these four little sub isolators have worked out in my system kept me picking my jaw off the floor! They just have no right to positively transform my overall musical presentation’s bottom-to-top bandwidth like they do! If you have any interest in what the AUVA-SW   Sub Isolators  did to my ears (and potentially can yours), please allow me to elaborate below.

With 25 years in music study, degree, performance, and teaching, I found my passion for fidelity music reproduction, one that I have perused for the past half century! Currently, in my fine-tuned dynamic speaker 2-channel audio system (LAiV uDAC, feeding Starkrimson GaNFET power amp, powering reference RAAL 3-way tower speakers and musical Axiom EP500 12” powered sub), my dedicated music room has allowed me to achieve fidelity soundstage realism that is consistently mind-blowing. There has been steady learning and sonic gains with every aspect of my system during these years (going pure digital, CD transport to external DAC, AUVA 50s and EQs, etc.) and to my ears, I had everything and wanted for nothing in listening session auditory fidelity bliss! THEN, these SWs showed up at my door!?!

Now, the fast, tight, tuneful bass response is even More impactful and much richer with better defined texture, pitch, and tonality! Though I did not associate sonic issues before, with the AUVA SW isolators installed, any bass ringing and bloom have disappeared and articulation, clarity, depth, PRaT, and note identification have solidly reigned in! Having only a single sub (left of the left tower, 40Hz LP), now find its sonic integration with the full-range towers and overall center phantom soundstage blends seamlessly, creating the sub total disappearance. Much of this sonic bass improvement was not expected, but certainly very welcomed!!

I still have trouble understanding how and why, but an even “bigger surprise” arose (Totally Unexpected). After the first 30 minutes, the SW isolators settled in to their new home and the Soundstage width, depth and height started changing? After the first hour of break-in, the soundstage 3-D holographic presentations grew at-least 50% more (was huge before), with much more realistic and refined air, body and spatial definition to vocalist, instrumentalist, strings, keyboards and percussionist…Totally Mind-Blowing! Imaging fidelity is more precise, more believable, and more natural, All allowing the system and room to even better disappear, placing Me, the Performers and the Music  inside the recorded venue ! Lagniappe (another Cajun saying)...I am now totally in Audio Nirvana !! "

"Like everything else I have purchased from Stack the results were impressive...sublime even. The bass is now clearer, tighter, easier to follow but as often with subwoofers, the mid-range and treble have also benefited from snapping into tighter focus.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, the smaller Stack feet look better than the rather large silver REL feet that I've replaced. Good news all around!"

"The improvement in bass response using the AUVA SW footers under my single JL Audio e110 subwoofer supporting my Manger P1 passives is immediate.

Not just better low frequency pitch, tightness and clarity, but better music throughout the entire frequency range.  My system is more ‘open’; instrument and vocal separation is improved, tone is truer, hints of muddiness or compression are audibly reduced. Individual bass notes from different low-frequency instruments are clearer and better defined. The ‘fullness’ of musical reproduction that subs provide is better than before — after replacing another brand’s footers with the Stack Audio product.  I have several of your products in my system and, in my opinion, the sub footers have made the most significant improvement, playing vinyl as well as CDs. I’ve recently spent considerable money on upgrades to my system ($20k in upgrades to a $100k+ system in US$) and the Stack sub footers rank right up there with the $7k upgrade to my First Sound preamp. I installed all 4 footers under the sub‘s four corners using the Stack screw-in inserts, resting the sub directly on top of each.  Super easy install. I think you have another winner."

"The entire presentation is seamless, supremely detailed all the way down to the bottom. I had to turn the sub up two notches because they damped the room antinodes so much."

"Please feedback to your dark gods that these new sub AUVA are truly an amazing piece of infernal engineering.

I bought my Rel s510 because it was touted to pair very well with my Harbeths. And it did until I put AUVA under the Harbeths. They became so delicate and nuanced that I relegated the lowest 35hz to be slightly overrepresented and boomy, which was fine because it's rare that an instrument goes that low.

But now... Oh now the entire presentation is seamless, supremely detailed all the way down to the bottom. I had to turn the sub up two notches because they damped the room antinodes so much. And the nicest change was that I no longer feel a low bassy punch of a bass drum through the floor, I feel it with my chest."

Heath C. - Australia

"The new AUVA subwoofer isolators are truly excellent. It isn't easy to position them perfectly beneath the kc62 but that is die to the kefs, not the isolators. They are a massive improvement over the isoacoustics sub-200s I used for my two kc62s before. The main difference is in bass presences which is much more modest, in the most positive way possible. It is there but it isn't loud and obnoxious anymore."

Xander C - NL

Used with: KEF KC62 subwoofers

"I installed SWs and experienced a change. Very profound change as well. The amount of cleaning of vibrations and interference done by SWs must have been huge, as I enjoy more life-like music, instruments, feel of recording space, depth etc, etc… and it is so true, that the rest of the frequencies are affected by the subs. Illusion of being there….

I appreciate that all that change is a sum of different elements, in my case, all settling in and producing the rewards, but the jump in quality was easily detectable right after I had fitted SWs. Without a doubt this set contributed a lot to my new enjoyment level. Happy place."
